Psychotherapy in Your Language – Online or In-Person
The Santagostino Approach
Psychologist or Psychotherapist?
No, they are not and do not do the same thing.
All psychotherapists are also psychologists, meaning they have a degree in Psychology and are registered with the Order of Psychologists, but in clinical practice a psychologist cannot provide psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy can only be performed by psychotherapists, that is, by those professionals who have completed 4 or 5 years of post-graduate training and defended a final thesis.
This distinction ensures that the therapeutic journey is entrusted to specialists with thorough and targeted clinical preparation.
At Santagostino Psiche you will find only specialized therapists who provide psychotherapy pathways, in full compliance with the law.
Online or In-Studio Therapy?
The effectiveness of online psychotherapy is supported by scientific evidence that demonstrates its equivalence with in-person therapy in treating various disorders.
However, in-studio therapy offers specific advantages, responding to individual preferences and needs.
Being physically present allows for better perception of facial expressions and body language, thus strengthening the therapeutic relationship.
Furthermore, the studio represents a safe environment, free from distractions, where the therapist can intervene immediately in crisis situations.
Finally, the journey to the studio can constitute a useful ritual for reflecting on the themes addressed during the session.
