What is Santagostino’s private emergency medical care?
Santagostino’s private service includes emergency medical care with appointment, useful for health problems perceived as urgent but that do not require the use of first aid measures. The service is available for under-18 years old patients too, even if they will not be taken care of by a pediatrician, but by a general practitioner.
The cost of a Private Emergency Visit is 45 euro.

When is Santagostino’s emergency medical care useful?
Santagostino’s service is useful in any case in which it’s not possible to contact your family doctor. For example when:
- Your family doctor, or General Practitioner, is established in another city or country (like tourists or Erasmus students);
- Your family doctor, or General Practitioner, is not available;
- You have some health problems perceived as urgent but you don’t require first aid
What does the visit consist of?
The visit is not specialized and it is carried out by a general practitioner.
First, the doctor collects information on the patient’s medical history, then they proceed to measure your vital signs (such as blood pressure, temperature and heartbeat) as well as perform a physical evaluation. Finally, the Doctor will prescribe a therapy or ask the patient to do additional examinations or specialized visits which are directly bookable in Satagostino’s medical centers.
ATTENTION: the doctor cannot prescribe medicines or exams required by red prescription - necessary for the State medical reimbursement - and he can’t issue any illness certificate for workers.
The visit is indicated for:
- flu symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, cold)
- gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, stomach ache, diarrhea, constipation)
- soft allergic reactions
- soft skin eruptions, redness, erythema
- minor injuries and/or cuts
- minor burns or superficial wounds
- backache, headache, permanent pains
The visit is not indicated for:
- illness certificate requests for workers
- specialized visits without appointment
- emergencies linked to critical conditions, not manageable in the clinic (intense pains, respiratory difficulties, shock state, cardiac arrest, exc.)
