Anita Regalia is an experienced gynecologist and mother of 4 children.
For over 20 years she has served as the chief of the delivery ward at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, University of Milan Bicocca, where she promoted physiological birth, spontaneous delivery in women with previous cesarean sections and practiced routine external cephalic versions for breech babies.
Se has published more than 100 articles in scientific journals and has written several books on the culture and care of childbirth in Italy, the latest being "Physiology of birth. From the beginnings of labour to post-partum".
She is president of IRIS, Institute for Research and Intervention on Health, which since 2000, has been actively involved in evaluating the quality of care in obstetrics and gynecology, in collaboration with experts in epidemiology, neonatology, sociology and pedagogy.
Until 2013 she was a professor of Obstetrics and specialist training for the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Milan Bicocca.
She is currently a consultant for the National Institute of Health, and teaches obstetrics care all over the country.
She is also a consultant for several national courts.
